Flo is an experienced Strength and Conditioning coach and academic with 25 years in elite sport, higher education and coach development. He is a Principal Lecturer and Course Leader at the University of Brighton, where he leads undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and works with governing bodies to align education with industry standards.

Alongside his academic role, Flo has supported athletes across a range of sports, including senior and pathway roles with the Lawn Tennis Association and consultancy work with elite sport organisations. His coaching philosophy centres on evidence-based practice, clear communication and long-term athletic development.

Across his career, he has gained extensive experience in strength and conditioning and applied sport science. He has worked as a consultant with elite organisations, served as a GB Women’s Team Strength and Conditioning Coach, and contributes to professional standards as a UKSCA accredited coach and Director of Industry Engagement for the IUSCA.

His professional interests include long-term athlete development, coaching, strength and movement quality, injury risk reduction and bridging the gap between research and real-world coaching practice.

Outside of work, Floris enjoys weight training, running, and cycling, including mountain routes across Europe. He also has a love of hockey and values spending time outdoors with family and friends.
